4-H Horse Members Participate in Horse Quiz Bowl

The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County congratulates the Chautauqua County Horse Bowl team members who recently participated in the 2014 Regional 4-H Quiz Bowl Contest held in Cattaraugus County.

The primary objective of the Horse Bowl contest is to provide an opportunity for youth enrolled in 4-H horse projects to demonstrate their knowledge of equine related subject matter in a competitive setting where attitudes of friendliness and fairness prevail. It is also hoped that these contests will provide educational experiences for both participants and spectators. The youth of Chautauqua County have been practicing and researching for several months in preparation for last weekend’s event. Youth from Allegany, Chautauqua, Erie, Niagara, and Wyoming counties competed in this event that tests 4-H youth on their knowledge of the Equine industry.
